Woman reportedly charged with dangerous driving in Point Cook

A woman has been charged as her husband battles for life after allegedly falling from a moving car in Point Cook, a number of news outlets are reporting.

Tara McConchie (35) has been charged after her husband Damien Osbourne (36) was serverly injured, a result from falling of a moving car. The woman is now in custody, and the husband fighting for life in the Royal Melbourne Hospital with severe head injuries. The incident reportedly playing out at a party where their 3 children were attending.

Its alleged an argument broke out between the two, at a party in Point Cook, with suggestions alcohol fuelled tensions led to Ms McConchie behind the wheel of her Holden Jackeroo.

Mr Osbourne reportedly told party goers to “look out for the kids” then held onto the side door of the car. Mr Osbourne held on for 60 meters, but suffered catastrophic head injuries after he fell from the moving vehicle just before 2.30am Sunday. Its being reported a witness said, “There was an argument going on, they were both very intoxicated.”

Ms McConchie was charged with negligently cause serious injury and dangerous driving cause serious injury. She was granted bail and will appear in court on May 26. 

Major collision investigation unit detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances of what took place.
