Cayman Motoring Federation Launches Motorsport Sim Racing at Gamers Bay 8

The Cayman Motoring Federation (CMF) has successfully introduced Motorsport Sim Racing to the Cayman Islands during the Gamers Bay 8 event, held on September 28-29. Using the iRacing platform and the FIA F4 car, the launch marked a significant milestone for motorsport in the region, with 144 participants of diverse backgrounds engaging in the activity.

This initiative, made possible with the support of The Auto Spa, Cayman Islands Esports Association, FinePrint, and Peripheral Lifestyle Sunglasses, promotes accessibility and affordability in motorsport, making it easier for young racing enthusiasts to develop their skills without the financial constraints of traditional racing.

The introduction of iRacing not only broadens local interest in Esports but also positions the Cayman Islands as a rising hub for Esports, with the potential to foster talent capable of competing internationally.

Four standout winners emerged from the competition: Milan Maraczi, Jesse McCarthy, Kyle Broadhurst, and Jharrin Greenidge. Each received a pair of Peripheral Lifestyle Sunglasses, courtesy of event sponsors.

CMF members, including President Jane Scaletta and other key officials, provided guidance and support throughout the competition, contributing to its success.

Looking ahead, CMF is preparing for the FIA Motorsport Games in Valencia, Spain, from October 23-27, where Caymanian Esports athletes will represent the island on the global stage.
