APAC’s mobility leaders meet in Cebu for the FIA Region II Roundtable
The FIA is set to hold its 2024 Region II Roundtable in Cebu, Philippines.
The prestigious event is an opportunity for mobility Clubs from across APAC to gather and discuss key issues and opportunities within the region. It will be hosted by the Automobile Association Philippines.
FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem said: “We are looking forward to joining our Member Clubs in the Philippines for this year’s FIA Region II Roundtable. The Roundtable remains a key opportunity for us to connect with our Member Clubs and pursue a brighter, more collaborative future for our Federation.”
The three-day event will include meetings and workshops, including those on helmet-wearing and tourism, and presentations on new research, supported by Frost and Sullivan and the FIA Foundation. Delegates will also be invited to hear presentations on creative business projects from 2024 FIA Innovation Challenge finalists.
Congress attendees will come from the FIA’s mobility network located across Asia Pacific.
Region II President Greig Craft is responsible for Mobility Member Clubs within the Region. He said: “We look forward to welcoming all regions of FIA to our mobility conference, here in the Philippines. These meetings are an essential part of our efforts to connect, drive change, and foster collaboration within our community.
“This year should be especially rewarding, with discussions around new business opportunities for Asia-Pacific clubs using learnings from clubs in Australia, Europe and North America, new helmet advocacy, and our first ever sessions alongside sporting colleagues within the region.
“This type of collaboration and regional development aligns with the FIA manifesto, and it’s exciting to see it happen.”
The Automobile Association Philippines (AAP) will host the event. AAP President Joe Ferreria said: “Mabuhay! We are excited to host our fellow Member Clubs here in Cebu for this year’s FIA Region II Roundtable. This gathering provides a vital platform for us to strengthen our bonds, share insights and best practices, identify new opportunities, and work together towards a more unified and resilient future. With the theme ‘Powering Through Change,’ this conference will enable us to navigate challenges and embrace the transformative power of collaboration—all while working in paradise!”
The Conference agenda will also include motor sport sessions for the very first time. 8 ACNs (Member Clubs with both Mobility and Motor Sport capabilities) will be taking part in the event.
