Building a sustainable future: star ratings recognise five FIA Clubs’ environmental efforts
Five FIA Mobility Members have received or renewed star ratings as part of the FIA Environmental Accreditation Programme.
Kosovo Touring Assistance, Belize Automobile and Touring Association, Automobile et Touring Club du Liban received a 1-star rating, while Automóvil Club de Colombia renewed its 1- star rating. Panos Mylonas RSI (Greece) received a 3-star rating.
FIA Environmental Accreditation Programme’s star ratings are awarded in recognition of Clubs’ efforts to promote environmental sustainability within their day-to-day activities. These efforts can be evidenced in a wide variety of ways, including the introduction of well-considered strategies, the dissemination of effective environmental communications, or the implementation of strong training and awareness processes.
Kosovo Touring Assistance was praised for its efforts to raise employees’ awareness through environmental communication and education and Automobile et Touring Club du Liban was congratulated for a demonstrated outstanding environmental commitment. The rating acknowledged Belize Automobile Touring Association’s campaigns and awareness-raising activities both internally and externally, while Touring and Automóvil Club de Colombia was recognised for its strong commitment and willingness to develop internal routines and procedures further to meet best practices in the future.
Meanwhile, mobility member Panos Mylonas RSI received the highest possible rating of the programme for its strong environmental indicators, guidelines for energy and water use, environmental management system certification and approach ‘firmly structured on policies, procedures and strategies.’
Clubs will have an opportunity to push for even more ambitious environmental ratings over the coming years.
