FIA Rally & Circuit title winners celebrated in Baku

Following the glittering FIA Prize Giving on Friday evening, the celebration of motor sport champions and title winners from 2023 continued on Saturday, with successful drivers and co-drivers from regional and international competitions gathering in Baku, the Azerbaijan capital, to receive their coveted awards.

As in 2022, the dedicated ceremonies for Single-Seater, Circuit Sport and Road Sport categories provided a fitting occasion for winning drivers from around the world to be recognised for their standout achievements during the last 12 months.

FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem said: “Every FIA champion and title winner deserves their moment of recognition, and I am pleased that we have dedicated a day of celebration to the winners of many of our competitions that happen all around the world. I enjoy watching circuit competitions, but it was in rallying where it all started for me. Motor sport is a passionate and diverse community, and it is important for us to come together once the rivalries are settled to enjoy this day together. My congratulations go to all the men and women who have collected a trophy here today.”

Champions of several Road Sport categories were the first to take to the stage at the Baku Convention Center with the winners of the Regional and World Cups for Cross-Country Bajas and T3 and T4 sections of the FIA World Rally-Raid Championship recognised.

Successful drivers from the inaugural Bridgestone FIA EcoRally Cup were rewarded, as were the winners of the various FIA Regional Rally champions from Africa, Asia-Pacific, CODASUR, European, Middle East and NACAM championships, plus the FIA European Rally Trophy.

Following the trophy presentation to Hayden Paddon, who claimed the 70th-anniversary FIA European Rally Championship crown, the spotlight was shone on the winners of the FIA Junior WRC Championship, FIA WRC3 Championship and FIA WRC2 Championship titles.
