The FIA Champions Sustainable Events Solutions and Socio-Economic Growth Opportunities at the 20th China Exhibition Economy International Cooperation Forum

The FIA, on the invitation of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), attended the 20th China Exhibition Economy International Cooperation Forum (CEFCO) along with its Member Club the Federation of Automobile and Motorcycle Sports of the People’s Republic of China (CAMF). The Forum — which brought together influential stakeholders from the global exhibitions and events industry — gave the FIA a great opportunity to share its vision and expertise on organising sustainable events and underline how motorsport can drive socio-economic growth. 

The FIA’s participation was jointly coordinated with  CAMF, highlighting the Club’s key role as  a local expert and leader in ensuring that FIA events in China align with national regulations, standards, and sporting development goals. 

Invited to speak in a panel discussion dedicated to  sustainability in the events industry, FIA Chief Development Officer Habib Turki presented the Federation’s comprehensive strategy for minimising environmental impact of motorsport events, fostering long-term partnerships and engaging all stakeholders to commit to sustainable practices. He also stressed that successful implementation depends on close collaboration among government entities, the private sector, and national sporting authorities such as CAMF. 

Another key highlight of the FIA’s participation was a meeting with Chairman of the CCPIT  Mr. Ren Hongbin. Discussions focused on the substantial positive economic impact that motorsport events, sport tourism, and mobility can bring to China. Both sides agreed that FIA Championship events represent a compelling opportunity for Chinese businesses to gain international recognition, especially through active participation via CAMF.

In line with these opportunities, during the forum, the FIA delegation visited the  V1 Autoworld Circuit in Tianjin. FIA representatives met with local authorities to discuss how targeted investments in motorsport infrastructure can foster socio-economic development in the region. CAMF has already organised multiple sporting events at V1 Autoworld, showcasing the circuit’s potential to attract major international series, boost local tourism, and stimulate broader economic activities.
