FIA European Historic Rally Championship Hosts ‘First on Scene’ Medical Response Training

The FIA European Historic Rally Championship team hosted a ‘First on Scene’ first aid training session at the Rally de Asturias Histórico on May 17. The session, held at the Parc Ferme area, focused on essential steps to take when first on the scene of a serious incident and was open to all competitors in the weekend’s Historic Rally of Asturias.

Veronika Havelková, a highly trained emergency paramedic and experienced co-driver from the Czech Republic, led a 25-30 minute session equipping participants with vital skills to assist fellow competitors in case of accidents.

This workshop was a crucial refresher following a recent serious accident on the Historic Vltava Rallye, reminding crews of the correct actions to take during such incidents.

Organised with the support of the FIA EHRC team onsite in Spain and the volunteers behind the Rally de Asturias, the training attracted a large turnout of FIA EHRC crews.

The EHRC team expressed their gratitude to Veronika Havelková for her significant contribution and for providing EHRC crews with essential first aid techniques crucial in the immediate aftermath of any incident. Her demonstration underscores the FIA’s commitment to prioritising safety in all motorsport endeavors.
