ACI Strengthens Road Safety Education Commitment on International Day of Education
In recognition of the International Day of Education 2024, the Automobile Club d’Italia (ACI) reaffirms its commitment to enhancing road safety education. In 2023, ACI’s ongoing efforts reached over 38,000 students, showcasing their dedication to road safety education.
ACI has a longstanding tradition of organising specialised road education courses in schools at all levels.
In recognition of the International Day of Education on January 24, 2024, supported by the UN General Assembly, ACI shared a video on its digital platforms, highlighting the organisation’s commitment to education.
ACI President Angelo Sticchi Damiani said: “Road safety is crucial not only for the future drivers but also to address the concerning increase in accidents among young individuals.”
ACI’s collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Merit, established in 2017, includes the “Edustrada” project. Edustrada serves as a user-friendly portal for schools to book road safety education courses, categorized into 13 modules tailored for different age groups.
In 2023, ACI conducted over 900 courses through Edustrada, reaching more than 38,000 students. This initiative reflects a comprehensive approach to responsible education, starting from kindergartens and extending to high schools.
ACI’s partnership with the Ministry serves as a national and local institutional connection point, contributing to responsible education. The focus extends beyond creating responsible drivers to addressing the pressing issue of rising accidents among the younger demographic. The collaborative efforts aim to instill a culture of safety and responsibility from an early age.
