Launch of the FIA Women Officials’ Exchange program
Through a large recruitment campaign, FIA Women in Motorsport and FIA Volunteers and Official Commissions join forces to offer women from all over the world the chance to be part of the 2022 FIA Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix Race Officials.
The Women Officials’ Exchange program aims to promote and encourage participation of female motor sports officials around the world. It is also an opportunity to introduce women to all the essential roles carried out by the volunteers and to demonstrate that they have important missions at the highest level of the sport.
This first edition is anticipated to take place during the 2022 Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix (30 September – 2 October).
The recruitment open from the 1st to 14th of July 2022:
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- 18 years old as of 1st January 2022
- hold a valid officiating license in their home country
- have at least one year’s experience of officiating in any roles in their home country
- be available to arrive in Singapore by 28 September and leave earliest on 3rd October
- Accommodation is fully paid for and flights up to Euro 800.

A pool of 20 women will be selected and undergo a safety course before being allocated to a trackside position for the weekend. They will have the opportunity of being a flag marshal, an observer and track marshals on top of experiencing some pitlane action while being part of a world class event. Throughout the duration of their stay, they will be mentored by a local female official who will assist them in their roles.
Through this unique, memorable and enjoyable experience, they will return to their home country more enthusiastic to further develop their officiating skills while being a local ambassador for women in motor sport.
This new programme is part of the FIA’s commitment to promote diversity and accelerate inclusion at all levels of the sport and all around the world.
