WEC: Toyota quickest in final FP session; Porsche 1-2 in LMGTE Pro
The final Free Practice session ahead of tomorrow’s 2022 TotalEnergies 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps saw Toyota Gazoo Racing emerge as fastest
Mike Conway’s lap of 2m03.225s was 0.2s ahead of the sister Toyota GR010 Hybrid Hypercar.
Porsche GT Team placed 1-2 in the LMGTE Pro class, while Prema Orlen Team and Dempsey Proton Racing head LMP2 and LMGTE Am respectively.
The Headlines after FP3 at Spa:
Hypercar
- An early session lap by Mike Conway is sufficient to head the field in the final 60-minutes of running at a warm and sunny Spa
- British racer laps in 2m03.225s in No.7 Toyota GR010 Hybrid Hypercar which is looking to take its first-ever win at Spa
- No.8 Toyota is second as Brendon Hartley again sets the fastest time of that car on a 2m03.427s

- Glickenhaus’ final practice session compromised after the incident at Stavelot for Pipo Derani sees a full course yellow deployed to retrieve the Glickenhaus 007LMH car
- Romain Dumas takes over from Derani in the cockpit but American entered Hypercar stays fourth

- Porsche GT Team place 1-2 as they continue to remain unbeaten at top of the standings so far
- Michael Christensen in No.92 Porsche 919 RSR-19 leads on a 2m13.102s from the No.91 Porsche 911 RSR-19
- Gimmi Bruni laps 0.4s off stablemates as Porsche aims to reprise its 2021 dominant victory
- AF Corse Ferrari is third and fourth with No.51 again ahead of No.52 Ferrari 488 GTE Evo
- Corvette Racing is fifth as Tommy Milner laps just 0.1s off the Ferraris
LMP2
- Louis Deletraz continues strong form for the Prema Orlen Team as he peaks on a 2m04.254s lap
- The Swiss driver and his teammates Lorenzo Colombo and Robert Kubica also look strong on longer stint runs
- WRT ends the session in second position with Robin Frijns setting a best lap of 2m04.823s
- United Autosports USA ends up third with No.22 Oreca-Gibson as a 2m04.902s is achieved by Filipe Albuquerque
- JOTA is fourth as No.38 car driven by Antonio Felix da Costa, Will Stevens and Roberto Gonzalez makes it four teams in the top four positions with Stevens setting the fastest time on 2m04.987s
LMGTE Am
- Mikkel Pedersen sets a late time of 2m15.351s in No.46 Team Project 1 Porsche to continue the impressive pace by German entered team
- Harry Tincknell in No.77 Dempsey Proton Porsche had set the pace in LMGTE Am as double Le Mans class winner stopped the clocks at 2m15.970s with early session time
- TF Sport place third with a best lap of 2m134s achieved in Aston Martin Vantage
- Qualifying is scheduled to begin at 18.20 local time with two 10-minute sessions for LMGTE Pro/LMGTE Am and Hypercar/LMP2
