Wyndham City Calls For Ideas To Shape Annual Plan And Budget
Wyndham City’s annual budget planning process is now open, and locals are urged to share their ideas to help Council set priorities for 2022-23.
The ideas shared through this process will support Council to implement its Council Plan and ultimately the Wyndham 2040 Community Vision, which is for an inclusive, safe and sustainable community with jobs, schools and services close to home.
Locals are encouraged to share their ideas to help achieve the community vision, including improving services, programs and infrastructure as well as continued recovery from COVID-19.
Wyndham City Mayor Cr Peter Maynard said: “Community expertise is essential to shaping our draft annual plans and budgets. It’s your City, and you know what works and what needs to improve.”
Wyndham City residents’ views, ideas, and perspectives were integral to refreshing the Wyndham 2040 Community Vision and developing the Council Plan, which happened last year through the Help Shape Wyndham’s Future project. Now, the vision is ready to be put into action, and the community can help inform the draft annual plan and budget for 2022-23 that will help bring it to life.
Community members can share images, video and text responses via The Loop engagement page relevant to specific locations within Wyndham. Ideas need to build on the communities placed based priorities that we heard last year and are reflected in the Wyndham 2040 Community Vision and Council Plan.
Wyndham City is hosting a range of events as part of the Summer of Fun 2022, and locals are invited to attend specific events in each ward where they can catch up with Councillors to share their ideas.
“We are inviting the community to get involved and have their say. If you have a great idea, no matter how big or small, now is the time to share it with us,” Cr Maynard said.
“I am looking forward to meeting residents at community events and to seeing photos, videos and ideas shared via The Loop.”
Community ideas will be collected through to midnight on Sunday 20 February. The draft annual plan and budget will then be developed, and a public exhibition of the document is expected in April 2022. Following this, the draft annual plan and budget will be put to Council for endorsement in June 2022.
