Movies in Tarneit In December
As the weather warms up, free family events are coming to Tarneit, for everyone to enjoy.
Meet me in Tarneit will feature movie and music nights and a monthly Makers and Growers market over the next 6 months.
The free ‘Meet me in Tarneit’ program of events are being delivered to residents by Wyndham City in partnership with the Victorian Government and the Tarneit Suburban Revitalisation Board.
Wyndham City Mayor, Cr Peter Maynard, said Tarneit’s public spaces will be brought to life in the coming months with an array of free community events to bring the community together and support local businesses.
“These fun events will be delivered in collaboration with local businesses and local community centres and will have something for everyone. From movie nights to live music in the park and monthly markets, I encourage residents to come down with your family and enjoy what is on offer locally in Tarneit,” Cr Maynard said
The first Makers and Growers market will be held on 29th January and will feature arts, crafts, food and produce. They will be held once a month rotating amongst the three community centres in Tarneit. Stallholder applications for are now open. Local makers, artists and growers are encouraged to apply now. The first round of applications will close Sunday 19 December.
“This is a great opportunity for local creative businesses to sell their products in the local community. There are no stallholder fees and marquees will be supplied, so if you’re a local maker or grower I encourage you to take advantage of this great opportunity”
The first movie event that will kick off, is certain to entertain kids and families alike – a special screening of The Lego Movie at Baden Powell Reserve, Tarneit on Saturday, 11 December at 5pm. Get the family together, bring a rug, relax and be entertained in your local park.
Get there early to play Nintendo switch on the big screen and dance away. There will be fun roving entertainment including Mr Hubble, Australia’s Favourite Bubble Man blowing giant bubbles and Sir Pop A Lot will be popping popcorn for everyone.
Let’s get into the Christmas spirit! Bring the kids, relax on the lawn and enjoy a Christmas movie together with the family. Dust off your tinsel and grab the family and be part of the Christmas spirit – and enjoy a specialChristmas Movie Night– Elf will be screened on Saturday 18 December at 5pm, at Baden Powell Reserve, Tarneit. Family friendly roving entertainment will be sure to excite and entertain our younger residents.
All events are free – but bookings are essential.
