Sharyn McNeill joins Cricket Victoria Board
Cricket Victoria is pleased to confirm the appointment of Sharyn McNeill to the organisation’s Board.
Ms McNeill is a chartered accountant and lawyer who has previously worked at EY and Allens, specialising in taxation, finance and investment management.
She has experience serving as a non-executive director on the boards and committees of public sector, community and sporting organisations.
Originally from Melbourne, Ms McNeill has been based in Hong Kong in recent years, where she served as Director on the board of Cricket Hong Kong and as President of Hong Kong AusKick in collaboration with AFL Asia.
In addition to Ms McNeill’s appointment, the Board sought additional experience and input from former First Class players on the organisation’s High Performance Committee.
As a result, Cricket Victoria confirms the appointment of former Victorian players Fawad Ahmed, Lloyd Mash, in addition to Julie Savage, to the committee.
Cricket Victoria Chair Dr David Maddocks welcomed the appointments.
“On behalf of the Board, I’d like to welcome Sharyn to Cricket Victoria. Sharyn brings a breadth of experience, not only in the corporate sector, but in community and local sport here and overseas, that will be beneficial to our planning and growth moving forward,” Dr Maddocks said.
“I’d also like to welcome Fawad, Lloyd and Julie to our High Performance Committee. We look forward to utilising their expertise in advising the Board on matters relating to high performance and First Class cricket.”
Ms McNeill, who returned to Melbourne 12 months ago, said she was looking forward to contributing to Victorian cricket.
“I’d like to thank David and the Board for this fantastic opportunity – I feel very honoured to be joining Cricket Victoria and contributing to the positive impacts cricket has in our community. Cricket is a huge part of the Victorian calendar and I’m looking forward to working towards its continued success,” Ms McNeill said.
The appointments take effect immediately.
