Hundreds of cannabis plants seized across western suburbs

Police have seized millions of dollars’ worth of cannabis over the last week as part of a series of warrants executed across Melbourne’s western suburbs.

Nearly 650 cannabis plants and approximately 10kg of dried cannabis were seized in total as part of the warrants executed at residential properties last week across the following suburbs:

• Brooklyn

• Braybrook

• Tarneit

• Point Cook

• Hoppers Crossing

• Truganina

• Maidstone

• Williamstown

257 cannabis plants were seized from a property in Point Cook on Monday (7 November), estimated to be worth approximately $1 million.

A 55-year-old Point Cook woman was charged with cultivate a commercial quantity of cannabis. She was remanded to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 31 January.

A 35-year-old Tarneit man is expected to be charged on summons with possession of cannabis, and a 60-year-old Brooklyn man was also issued with a caution for possession of cannabis.
