Have your say in shaping Wyndham’s future
Wyndham City Council is asking residents to have their say on the plans that will help bring to life the refreshed Wyndham 2040 Community Vision.
The Council Plan, Long-Term Financial Plan and Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan are currently out for public exhibition, and the council is calling on the community to review and comment on these draft plans prior to their adoption in October 2021.
Wyndham City Mayor Cr Adele Hegedich said these three important plans will guide the work Council does over the next four years to ensure that Wyndham continues to be a great place to live, work and play.
“We know the Wyndham is growing quickly and with growth comes challenges. Challenges to provide the right infrastructure in a timely way. Challenges to provide the right services that meet our community’s needs. Challenges in delivering all of this in a way that is financially sustainable now and into the future,” Cr Hegedich said.
“Partnerships with other levels of Government, community organisations and the private sector are going to be key to how we face these challenges head-on.”
“The Council Plan sets out how Wyndham City will deliver the community’s priorities over the next four years in line with the Wyndham 2040 Community Vision.”
“This is then actioned through other Council strategies and plans, including the Long-Term Financial Plan, Annual Plan and Budget and Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan.”
“The Long-Term Financial Plan sets the financial principles to guide Council decision making to ensure Council’s financial sustainability is secured into the future.”
“It provides a 10-year projection regarding how the service strategies of the Council Plan and Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan may be funded within a constrained revenue environment due to rate capping and cost-shifting.”
“Health and wellbeing is also a strong focus for this Council, and through our Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan, Wyndham City outlines the outcomes it is striving towards to create a healthier city.”
“It is essential that we all work together to create Wyndham’s future, and the Wyndham City Council Plan, Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan and Long-Term Financial Plan are vital to the future success of our City.”
