GRM lease option aiding easy TCR entrance
Garry Rogers Motorsport has outlined an easier pathway into the Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series.
GRM currently has three brand new, unused TCR cars in its fleet – two Peugeots and one Alfa Romeo – and is keen to have these on the grid for turbocharged, two-litre touring cars.
The team runs seven entries across three manufacturers in the Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series – Alfa Romeo, Peugeot and Renault. Although there is no intention to add to that number, GRM Director Barry Rogers explained an attractive lease program is possible for teams or individuals wanting to join the series.

“The next step for GRM is to expand our customer lease program,” Rogers said.
“We have no intention of running more cars ourselves, but we have the capability of assisting private entries. Anyone who wants to race in TCR under their own banner, we can aid in the process.
“We’ve got all the spares for all the cars, there’s not a big investment for anybody to go and gear up with components or technical resources.
“This is one of the easiest ways to get into TCR. If you’re out there and want to get yourself in a competitive TCR car, pick up the phone and ring us.
“We’re old used car salesmen at heart, so we’re good at doing deals here at GRM!”
GRM is the agent for both Alfa Romeo and Peugeot, while alongside Vukovic Motorsport is a development partner of the Renault Megane R.S. TCR.
Currently GRM enter Jordan Cox and Michael Caruso in Romeo Ferraris developed Alfa Romeo Giulietta Veloce TCRs, while Burson father-son team Jason and Ben Bargwanna race Peugeot 308 TCRs alongside Aaron Cameron in his Valvoline-supported example.
James Moffat and Dylan O’Keeffe spearhead the team’s Renault campaign.
Although Rogers explained these cars are available, he emphasised the goal remained to increase the number of manufacturers on the Supercheap Auto TCR Australia grid.
“We’d certainly look at people looking to get involved and lease a car, but we’re also keen on some new marques coming in,” Rogers said.
Cameron is best of the GRM drivers in the series standings currently fifth, while Cox follows in eighth and Ben Bargwanna is 11th.
Chaz Mostert currently leads the standings approaching The Bend doubleheader round on October 15-17.
