Two males charged for Tarneit armed robbery
Westgate Divisional Response Unit detectives have charged two males and are appealing for public assistance following an armed robbery in Tarneit last week.
Police have been told three males entered a fast food restaurant on Derrimut Road in Tarneit at approximately 2pm on 11 August.
It’s alleged the males had an edged weapon and stole two mobile phones off people inside the restaurant. Another victim was also allegedly punched in the head during the incident but was thankfully not seriously injured.
Over the course of the week, detectives executed three search warrant at properties in Tarneit, Werribee and Wyndham Vale.
Two males, including a 14-year-old from Tarneit and a 15-year-old from Werribee have all been charged with armed robbery.
The Werribee boy has been remanded in custody, and the Tarneit boy was bailed, and both are due to appear at a court at a later date.
Investigators are also seeking to identify another male who is believed can assist with enquiries.
The male is perceived to be African in appearance, aged in his teens, with shoulder length dark brown or black hair. He was wearing a brown hooded puffer jacket, black adidas tracksuit pants and had a black face mask on.
It is believed he may reside in the Wyndham area.
