Wyndham Council looking for people to join the Werribee South Green Wedge Steering Committee
Wyndham City Council asks, “Do you have an interest in the future of Werribee South and work or live in the area? “
The Council is looking for community members to join the Werribee South Green Wedge Steering Committee and have their say on plans for this region.
Wyndham City Mayor, Cr Adele Hegedich, said the Committee would oversee and provide input into the review and implementation of the Werribee South Green Wedge Policy and Management Plan, which contains an overarching vision for the Werribee South Green Wedge.
“The Werribee South Green Wedge is an important agricultural, environmental and recreational area for Wyndham,” Cr Hegedich said.
“As part of State and Local Government commitments to safeguard the Green Wedge for future generations, this Committee is continuing into the new Council term to ensure that stakeholders have a chance to discuss matters relating to its protection and operation.”
“If you’re a farmer, resident or business owner from Werribee South or Point Cook South, I encourage you to put your hand up and make your voice heard.”
Members of the Committee will be expected to attend quarterly meetings, with the first to take place as soon as possible following selection of Committee members.
The Expressions of Interest period will run until 11.59pm on 20th August, 2021.
