Werribee’s Hunter Building opens its doors
A 150-room Holiday Inn that is the jewel in the crown of a ground-breaking 12-storey development in the heart of Werribee’s City Centre will open its doors this week.
The InterContinental Hotels Group is set to open the Holiday Inn Werribee on 16 July, boasting modern and stylish rooms that are perfect for both business travellers and tourists – and conveniently located only minutes away from some of Wyndham’s biggest tourism attractions, including the Werribee Open Range Zoo, Victoria State Rose Garden and Werribee Park and Mansion.
The hotel also features the Rosana Bistro and Bar, which is located on the top floor and has spectacular floor to ceiling views of Werribee and towards Melbourne’s CBD.
Wyndham City Mayor Cr Adele Hegedich said the hotel was the anchor tenant in the new 12-storey Hunter development, which would make Werribee’s City Centre a more vibrant and exciting place to be for our residents and visitors.
“In partnership with Pelligra-Citinova, we have transformed a ground-level car park at the corner of Synnot Street and Duncans Road into a premium development featuring a brand-new Holiday Inn, high-end restaurant with stunning views, almost 4,000 square metres of office space, and ground level retail and hospitality space,” Cr Hegedich said.
“This building will deliver more employment, boost liveability and tourism to the area, increase car parking, and strengthen the local economy.”
“Given that Victorians have been encouraged to explore their own backyard and take staycations because of the pandemic, it’s important that Werribee’s City Centre has quality accommodation for people to stay in.”
“The decision by the InterContinental Hotels Group to establish a hotel in the heart of Werribee shows that Wyndham is a place worthy of investment.”
“Council’s Social and Economic Inclusion team worked closely with the Holiday Inn to recruit local employees, creating more jobs in Werribee’s City Centre for the Wyndham community.”
“And with almost 4,000 square metres of office space, we’re looking forward to more businesses setting up shop in Wyndham.”
“Last but not least, Wyndham City’s new multi-storey car park will open on-site on 2nd August, offering up 167 undercover spaces with free three-hour parking – more than double the number of spaces that were previously available.”
“The completion of this mammoth project complements our recent $13 million Wyndham Park redevelopment and the transformation of the Bridge Hotel into a fresh, exciting and contemporary venue.”
