Point Cook aggravated burglary pair face court
Two men charged with home invasion offences after an alleged aggravated burglary, appeared in court yesterday.
Police allege the pair, Ajak Deng (21 from Tarneit) and Arop Chol (20 from Point Cook) broke into a home on Ladybird Drive in Point Cook at about 1.25am on Tuesday.
It is alleged that during the home invasion they assaulted the adult occupants of the home, a mother and father, who received upper body injuries while their two children were in the home. The parents were taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a stable condition.
Victoria Police said that the two men “stole cash, phones and a computer before stealing the occupants’ BMW”.
“The car was driven to Lara and then observed to crash on Sandy Point Road in Little River. The offenders ran from the car but were arrested a short time later.”
Mr Chol was charged with home invasion, theft of a motor vehicle, recklessly causing serious injury, intentionally causing injury, committing an indictable offence while on bail and unlicensed driving.
Mr Deng was charged with home invasion, theft of a motor vehicle, recklessly causing serious injury and intentionally causing injury.
