Three teens arrested following burglary and car theft at Manor Lakes gym

Detectives from the Wyndham Crime Investigation Unit have arrested and charged three teenagers following an alleged burglary and car theft at a Manor Lakes gym on 7 April.

It’s alleged the trio stole car keys from a Ballan Road gym locker area about 8.30am.

The group allegedly went to steal a car from the nearby carpark when they were confronted by a passer-by.

One teen allegedly took off in the vehicle and two others fled on foot.

Police located the stolen vehicle on Brightvale Boulevard shortly after and arrested three female teens:

• Two 15-year-olds from Tarneit

• A 14-year-old from Hoppers Crossing

All were charged with burglary and theft.

The 14-year-old was bailed, and the two 15-year-olds were remanded, all to appear at a children’s court at a later date.

This just days after 5 male teens were charged following an alleged stabbing on a bus after a brawl between two groups of youths, both allegedly armed with weapons, at a park on Foster Street Dandenong about 5.30am Wednesday.

Transit Crime Investigation Unit detectives charged all five with recklessly cause serious injury, intentionally cause serious injury, affray, theft of motor vehicle and commit indictable offence whilst on bail. All were remanded overnight to appear before a children’s court yesterday.
