Teen dies and Three charged following allegedly stolen car ran off the road and flipped in Hoppers Crossing

Detectives from Major Collision Investigation Unit have charged three teenagers following a crash in Hoppers Crossing last night which claimed the life of a 15-year-old girl.

Police believe the allegedly stolen Subaru Liberty ran off Old Geelong Road between Forsyth and Kilmur roads, and rolled just after 6.30pm.

The girl was rushed to hospital but later died.

It has been reported by a number of outlets that one of the car’s occupants allegedly fled the crash but was arrested a short time later, along with two other occupants of the car.

A 16-year-old Werribee boy has been charged with culpable driving causing death.

With assistance from Hobsons Bay Crime Investigation Unit detectives, a 15-year-old girl from Tarneit was charged with theft of motor vehicle and theft.

Both were remanded to appear before a children’s court at a later date.

A 17-year-old Point Cook boy was charged with theft of motor vehicle and was bailed to appear before a children’s court at a later date.
