Drugs, firearm and over $700k uncovered during Footscray West warrant
Officers from the Altona North Divisional Response Unit (DRU) have uncovered drugs, a firearm and over $700,000 in cash during an operation in Footscray West yesterday morning.
DRU officers executed a search warrant at a Glamis Road address about 11.25am.
Police arrested three men and seized approximately five litres of 1,4-Butanediol, a large quantity of cannabis, methylamphetamine and prescription medication.
Officers also uncovered a firearm and over $700,000 in cash allegedly hidden inside the address.
A 22-year-old Footscray West man has been charged with over 30 offences including traffick commercial amount of GHB, possess firearm, traffick methylamphetamine and traffick cannabis.
A 29-year-old man from Altona Meadows has been charged with over 20 offences including traffick commercial amount of GHB, possess firearm, traffick methylamphetamine, traffick cannabis.
Both were remanded to appear before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 18 June.
A 72-year-old Footscray West man from has been charged with several offences including traffick cannabis and possess proceeds of crime.
He was bailed to appear before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 18 August.
