4 March 2021 |

The postponement of the Shannons Motorsport Australia Championships event at Phillip Island seems a long time ago … because we are ready to race next weekend!

The jam-packed schedule will include six categories over three days, featuring blockbuster categories;

The schedule for the meeting has been locked in, with all classes practicing on Friday, as well as qualifying sessions for Trans Am.

While the schedule does not feature any racing on Friday, that might not necessarily be true, as a Pro v Media karting event has been scheduled for the evening that will pit professional drivers alongside media representatives in a fun challenge.

The event marks Round 2 of the Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series, the VHT S5000 Australian Drivers’ Championship and the National Trans Am Series.

Jordan Cox, Thomas Randle and Aaron Seton currently lead their respective classes, but they’ll have a huge pack of competitors looking to end their reign.

For lovers of fast sports cars, the Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia Powered by AWS is just what you’re after. The event will mark the first time that the class will compete in Australia with the backing of highly-regarded GT promotors SRO Motorsports, in conjunction with the Australian Racing Group. After a difficult couple of years for GT racing in Australia, the new joint venture has already inspired new cars and drivers to get on the grid and wow the crowds.

Also in the sports cars realm, a real Porsche flavour will run through the paddock too, with the Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge and the Porsche 944 Challenge set to run on the card.
